Dr. Cáceres is an Associate Professor at the Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained her DVM from Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine, after which she completed a one-year appointment at a large veterinary hospital. She subsequently pursued a Radiology residency at the University of Pennsylvania and remained there as a clinical faculty member for 18 years, where she contributed extensively to the education of students, interns, and residents. Following her tenure at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Cáceres joined a major multispecialty hospital, where she established a Diagnostic Imaging program designed for specialty interns and residents.
Her commitment to education is driven by a dedication to continuous learning and an enthusiasm for diagnostic imaging. Dr. Cáceres approaches the teaching of Diagnostic Imaging through the integration of anatomy, physiology/pathophysiology, pathology and physics, enabling learners to develop systematic methods for interpreting imaging findings and formulating accurate differential diagnoses. Her research interests include computed tomography of the abdomen, particularly the pancreas and musculoskeletal disorders. Beyond her academic and clinical responsibilities, she enjoys time with her family and pets, as well as reading on topics related to astrophysics.
