PAWS Farm Educational Center
The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine of Rowan University is excited to operate PAWS Farm Educational Center in Mount Laurel, NJ. The 10-acre facility hosts programming focused on informal STEAM education and career exploration in veterinary medicine.
The farm focuses on the engagement of youth in grades pre-K-12 through field trips, after-school programming, special weekend events, and veterinary-themed camps. The farm fosters the veterinary school mission to develop veterinary leaders in community engagement and service. PAWS Farm educational outreach programs aim to create an informal pathway for students to discover careers in veterinary medicine.

PAWS Farm Educational Center is part of the Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine of Rowan University's emerging educational outreach initiatives. PAWSitive Futures is a summer camp for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who are interested in a potential career in veterinary medicine.
Camp will take place primarily in the Community Center at PAWS. Participants will have access to the natural areas of the property during breaks and for some activities. There are no captive animals or livestock on the property at this time. Camp includes two offsite trips: A visit to the veterinary school Shelter Medicine Clinic, where participants will be able to observe live surgery, and Cedar Run Wildlife Center.

July 14-18, 2025
8:30-4:00 (Arrival between 8:00-8:30. Departure 4:00-4:30)
Costs:
$475
$100 non-refundable deposit. Applied towards camp tuition.
Camp Includes:
- Off-site trips to the veterinary school Shelter Medicine Clinic and Cedar Run Wildlife Rescue
- Workshops and lectures for introductory exposure to skills in veterinary medicine and STEM
- Opportunities to meet with faculty, staff and veterinarians from the new Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine of Rowan University
- A small group experience of just 15 students.
The PAWS Farm Mission
PAWS Farm Educational Center will inspire the youth in our communities through hands-on STEAM-based educational programs. The farm will serve as a living classroom, allowing students, staff and faculty from the Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine of Rowan University to educate youth about veterinary care and foster connections between people, animals, and nature.
