PAWS Farm Educational Center
The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine of Rowan University recently began operations at PAWS Farm Educational Center in Mount Laurel, NJ. The 10-acre facility will be home to a variety of farm animals and host programming focusing on inclusive, informal STEM education and career exploration in veterinary medicine.
The farm will focus on the engagement of youth in grades PK-12 through field trips, after-school programming, special weekend events, and veterinary-themed camps. The farm will foster the SSVM mission to develop veterinary leaders in community engagement and service. SSVM educational outreach programs aim to create an informal pathway for underrepresented students to discover careers in veterinary medicine.
Planning and development of PAWS Farm for its exciting next chapter are already underway and will continue through the spring with the intent of hosting some initial programs in the summer. More news will be shared on the timeframe and specific plans as it becomes available.
