Jonathan Berman, PhD Associate Professor, Physiology
Dr. Berman brings a diverse background in physiology, renal physiology, and medical education. Most recently, he served as an Associate Professor of Physiology at Baptist Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, following postdoctoral training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Berman's research focuses on the molecular regulation of epithelial sodium channels (ENaC) and renal electrolyte transport, with an emphasis on mechanisms underlying blood pressure regulation and kidney physiology. His work integrates electrophysiology, molecular biology, and bioengineering approaches to study ion channel function and signaling pathways. More recently, his research has expanded to include public health, COVID-19 modeling, antibiotic dosing, and the application of artificial intelligence and educational technologies to improve medical education and critical thinking. |
